TeachNote

About

TeachNote is a one-person editorial project run by me, Kenny. I'm an indie developer; my day job is building and maintaining a catalog of over 1,600 AI tools with structured pricing data, plus a leaderboard of open-source AI projects that I snapshot every day. TeachNote is where I publish what that vantage point lets me see — which AI video tools actually hold up, which "free" tiers are bait, and what the numbers say before the marketing catches up.

How a post gets written

  1. Question first. Every post answers one specific question a real searcher asks — "is X actually free", "which of these should I pick" — not a product tour.
  2. I use the product. I run the free tier end-to-end, time it, count the limits, and take screenshots of the exact flows I describe. If I couldn't test something, the post says so explicitly.
  3. Pricing gets re-verified at publication and each post carries the date of that check. Prices change; a stale number is worse than no number.
  4. Every post ends with a verdict — who I recommend it for, who should skip it, and why. If I can't commit to a verdict, the post doesn't publish.

How this site makes money

TeachNote may earn revenue from display advertising and, where present, affiliate links. Commissions never change my verdict — tools I pan are tools I pan. Sponsored posts do not exist on this site.
